Facebook has agreed to buy WhatsApp instant messaging platform for $16 billion. The purchase will be split between $4 billion in cash and $12 billion in stock.WhatsApp claims to have over 450 million monthly active users, of which 70 percent are active daily.

200 million Windows 8 licenses sold
Microsoft marketing chief Tami Reller announced that microsoft has sold 200 million Windows 8 licenses to date and it includes only OEM and retail copies of the operating system.
