WayDroid is a free and open source container-based system application to boot a full Android system on Linux system. It comes with complete android app integration, multi-windows and full UI modes and much more features. It uses minimal customized Android system image based on LineageOS Android 11.
Install WayDroid on Ubuntu
Open the terminal application (ctrl+alt+t) and run below commands one by one. It will install WayDroid on your Ubuntu and Ubuntu based Linux distros.
sudo apt install curl ca-certificates -y
curl https://repo.waydro.id | sudo bash
sudo apt install waydroid -y
After installing you should start the waydroid-container service, if it was not started automatically using below command.
sudo systemctl enable --now waydroid-container
After the successful installation, then launch Waydroid from the Show apps menu from Ubuntu dock and follow the first-launch wizard.
And use the following links for System OTA and Vendor OTA:
https://ota.waydro.id/system https://ota.waydro.id/vendor
And in Android Type option and choose “GAPPS” to integrate Google Play Services or Use “Vanilla”.
Then click the “Download” button to begin downloading and installing your Android container. This might take some time, so wait til completed. After completion click Done button to start it.
