Cinema is a free and open source video player for Linux. Using Cinema app you can watch and manage your local video files. It is specially designed for elementary OS but you can use in any Linux OS. It is written in Vala. It comes with thumbnail preview, playlists, subtitle support, cover download, resume last play, light and dark themes and more.
How to install Cinema Video Player on Ubuntu
Cinema is available as a flatpak package file from the remote flathub. If you don’t have then first install flatpak and flathub on your system and restart it after the installation. Follow the below link for the flatpak and flathub installation instructions.
Open the terminal app using ctrl+alt+t keys and run below Cinema app flatpak install command. It will install the latest version of Cinema on your Ubuntu Linux system.
flatpak install flathub com.github.artemanufrij.playmyvideos
After the the successful installation of Cinema app, open it using below command.
flatpak run com.github.artemanufrij.playmyvideos
And uninstall Cinema using below commands.
flatpak uninstall com.github.artemanufrij.playmyvideos
