It comes with build-in settings and print profiles for easy printing. And also comes with powerful slicing engine, CAD plugin integration with SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Autodesk Inventor? and more. It is written in Python and released under GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0. Currently it supports STL, OBJ, X3D, 3MF, BMP, GIF, JPG, PNG file types.

Install Ultimaker Cura on Ubuntu Linux
Download Ultimaker Cura in the .AppImage portable file format from the above download link and save it on your Downloads folder. Now open the terminal (ctrl+alt+t) and run below commands one by one. Here “Ultimaker-Cura-5.1.1-linux-modern.AppImage” is the downloaded file name. Change based on your file name.
cd Downloads
sudo chmod +x ~ Ultimaker-Cura-5.1.1-linux-modern.AppImage
./Ultimaker-Cura-5.1.1-linux-modern.AppImage
Install Ultimaker Cura via Flatpak:
You need to install flatpak and flathub on your Ubuntu Linux first. And restart after the installation.
In your terminal app run this Ultimaker Cura installation command.
flatpak install flathub com.ultimaker.cura
Start Ultimaker Cura using
flatpak run com.ultimaker.cura
And uninstall Ultimaker Cura using this flatpak command.
sudo flatpak uninstall com.ultimaker.cura
That’s it.
