Vipsdisp Image Viewer Application for Linux

Vipsdisp is a free and open source image viewer application for Linux. Using Vipsdisp you can open very large image files and it supports many numeric pixel types, any number of image bands and many color spaces. It comes with GPU rendering, Toilet roll (sorry) mode, Multipage mode, Animated mode , and Pages as Bands display modes, scale and change background. Currently it supports TIFF, WEBP, JP2K, JXL, PNG, JPEG, SVS, MRXS, OpenEXR, GIF, PDF, SVG, FITS, Matlab, NIfTI, Analyze and more file formats.

Install Vipsdisp on Ubuntu Linux

Vipsdisp is available as a flatpak package from flathub. First install flatpak and flahub on your system and restart it after the installation. After that open the terminal software using the ctrl+alt+t keys and run below Vipsdisp flatpak installation command.

flatpak install flathub org.libvips.vipsdisp

After the successful installation of Vipsdisp, you can open it via the application menu or using below command in terminal app.

flatpak run org.libvips.vipsdisp

And uninstall Vipsdisp using this command.

sudo flatpak uninstall org.libvips.vipsdisp
