Ark is a free and open source graphical file compression and decompression software for Linux. It is a simple and easy to use archive application. It is released under GNU General Public License v2.0 or later and build using KDE and Qt Frameworks. It comes with rar, zip, 7z, tar, gzip, bzip2, CD-ROM images support. You can use Ark as file browser, file extractor and for creating new archives. Some other features are keyboard shortcuts and file preview before extracting the archive.
How to install Ark on Ubuntu Linux
You can install Ark from flathub. It is available as flatpak package file for Linux users. First install flatpak and flathub in your system and restart after it. Now open terminal command line application using ctrl+alt+t keys and run below Ark flatpak installation command.
flatpak install flathub org.kde.ark
It will install the latest version of Ark on your Linux system. You can run Ark via below command.
flatpak run org.kde.ark
You can also uninstall it via
sudo flatpak uninstall org.kde.ark
