VPaint is a free and open source vector graphics and 2D animation editor for Windows, MacOS and Linux. VPaint is still in beta stage. It is based on Vector Graphics Complex technology. According to its creator, this is a just research experimental prototype. But it works good. You can create resolution independent illustrations and animations using this software. Some of the main features are free-form sketching, sculpting, Painting, animation and onion skinning. It comes with layer and timeline support. And you can export files in PNG (frame and sequence) and SVG file format. It is released under Apache 2.0 License.
