Beta-1 includes the 3.2.0-17.27 Ubuntu kernel which is based on the v3.2.6 upstream stable kernel.

Sigil is a free and open source ebook editing software for Windows, macOS and Linux. Using this you can edit books in ePub format. It supports both ePub 2 and ePub 3 file formats. It is based on QtWebEngine and released under GNU General Public License v3.0. It comes with full full UTF-16 support, code view and preview view, metadata editor, Spell checking and you can extend the features of Sigil with plugins. Ubuntu 12.04 Countdown Banner Contest

Ubuntu 12.04 Countdown Banner Contest is now open for submissions.

Contest Guidelines:

1.width: 180px
2.height: 150px
3.optimized png, gif or jpg, or
4.iframe containing interactive content (using static html, css, js and images – no PHP)
5.no flash – must work perfectly with only free software
6.A successful implementation will countdown the days from Beta (aprox 30 days out) to final release. This means 30 images numbered 30 to 1 plus one for day 0 that says “coming soon” and one more that says “it’s here” (32 images total).

To install vlc media player 2.0.0 on ubuntu 11.10

1.Open Terminal.To open terminal click the Dash home from unity launcher.And type terminal in the search field. And click Terminal.

2.Type the below code in terminal and hit enter.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:n-muench/vlc

3.Type your ubuntu password if needed.

4.Then press enter to continue or ctrl-c to cancel adding the ppa.

Ubuntu Tweak is an application to config Ubuntu easier.

To install Ubuntu Tweak on ubuntu 11.10

1.Go to ubuntu tweak download page and download the latest version deb package file.

2.Double click the .deb package file or open with ubuntu software center and click the install button.

3.Type your ubuntu password if needed and wait until the installation is complete.

4.To open Ubuntu Tweak, click dash button from unity launcher. And type ubuntu tweak in the search applications field and click Ubuntu Tweak.

0 A.D. is a free, open-source, cross-platform real-time strategy (RTS) game of ancient warfare for Windows, Linux and OS X. It is a historically-based war/economy game that allows players to relive or rewrite the history of Western civilizations, focusing on the years between 500 B.C. and 500 A.D. It is released under GPL licence. The Linux version system requirements are at least 1 GHz Intel processor, 512 MB RAM, any 128 MB OpenGL 1.3 with 3D hardware accelerated drivers. This game is still in Alpha stage but usable.
