Twitter hacked
According to twitter’s Director of Information Security Bob Lord their security systems were breached and information for around 250,000 accounts including usernames, email addresses, session tokens and encrypted/salted passwords may have been accessed.

Twitter blocks Tumblr find friends feature
The Twitter option has been removed from tumblr “find Find people you know” feature. This was initially noticed by Matt Buchanan of Buzzfeed. The find friends feature was also removed from Instagram late last month.
According to TheNextWeb,Both Twitter and Tumblr confirmed this development.

Twitter released its first transparency report and it is based on government requests received for user information,government requests received to withhold content, and DMCA takedown notices received from copyright holders. The report includes data from January 1, 2012 through June 30, 2012.
