Howl is a free and open source text editor for Linux and BSD. It is a general purpose text editor and support may languages and formats. It is very lightweight and comes with a minimalistic user interface without any dialogue boxes, tool bars and a menu bar. It is a Keyboard centric text oriented UI editor. It is released under the MIT license and built on GTK and LuaJIT runtime. You can extend it via Lua or Moonscript. Some of its features are buffers, modes, singnal, key binding and command line support.
