RedNotebook is a free and open source journal and diary application for Linux, Windows and macOS. It is released under GPLv3+ licence. In this modern desktop diary and journal app, you can add your notes with pictures, links, email address and templates. It comes with tagging function with hashtags, build in spell check, automatic save and search. RedNotebook Journal and Diary app stores your data in plain text format and you can export your data to plain text, HTML or Latex file formats.
Install RedNotebook on Ubuntu:
You can install RedNotebook Journal and Diary software on ubuntu via its official PPA. Open your terminal app (Ctrl+Alt+T) and type the below command and press the enter key.
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:rednotebook/stable
Type your Ubuntu password if needed and hit the ENTER key to confirm the addition of PPA on your system. It will add the latest version of RedNotebook Diary and Journal App PPA on your system. Then run the below command.
sudo apt-get update
After that type the below command and hit the enter key to install the latest version of RedNotebook on ubuntu.
sudo apt-get install rednotebook
After the successful installation of RedNotebook Diary and Journal App, click the show applications in the Ubuntu Gnome dock and type RedNotebook in the search box and click RedNotebook to open it.
