How to install Avast Antivirus on ubuntu

To install Avast Antivirus on ubuntu

1.Go to Avast Antivirus for linux download page and click the download button and select “avast Linux Edition (DEB package)”

 

2.Copy the downloaded file to your Home folder.

3.Open Terminal.To open terminal click the Dash home from unity launcher.And type terminal in the search field.And click Terminal.

4.Type the below code in terminal and hit enter.

sudo dpkg -i avast4workstation_1.3.0-2_i386.deb

Note: 1.3.0-2 is version number.

5.Type your ubuntu password if needed and press enter.

6.After the successful installation,click the Dash home from unity launcher.And type avast in the search field.And click avast! Antivirus to open.

7.Then click “click here to obtain licence key” link and register to get a free license key.Check your mail for key.

8.Type your avast licence key and click Ok button.

9.Update database and start scan.
