Polyphone is a free and open source soundfont editor for quickly designing musical instruments for Linux, Windows and MacOS. It is released under GNU General Public License v3.0. Using Polyphone you can edit sf2, sf3, sfz and sfArk file formats. It comes with built-in synthesizer, recorder, soundfont browser, jack and asio audio servers support, virtual keyboard or midi signal control support and tools for musical instrument creation.
Install Polyphone on Ubuntu Linux
Polyphone is available as a flatpak package for Ubuntu Linux. First you need to install flatpak and flathub on your system and restart it. After that open the command-line terminal application using ctrl+alt+t keys and run below Polyphone flatpak installation command.
flatpak install flathub com.polyphone_soundfonts.polyphone
It will install the latest version of Polyphone on Ubuntu Linux. Then run below command to start Polyphone.
flatpak run com.polyphone_soundfonts.polyphone
If you want to uninstall it then run below command.
sudo flatpak uninstall com.polyphone_soundfonts.polyphone
