PHP 5.4.5 is now available for download.This release fixes over 30 bugs.What’s new in this release?

Fixes:

Crypt SHA256/512 Segfaults With Malformed Salt
ReflectionMethod random corrupt memory on high concurrent
serialize() generates wrong reference to the object
compile failure: (S) Arguments missing for built-in function __memcmp
Using traits with method aliases appears to result in crash during execution

php-fpm segfaults (null passed to strstr)
Add process.priority to set nice(2) priorities

Google acquires Sparrow

Google has acquired iOS and Mac email client Sparrow.according to Sparrow, Sparrow’s developers will now be joining the Gmail team to accomplish a bigger vision.Sparrow mail client would continue to be supported and critical bugs and security issues would be patched but but no new features will be added.

Bing adds 215 terabytes of new images

Microsoft has announced in a blog post that it has added a 215 terabytes of new satellite and Global Ortho images to the Bing Maps database. United States and features certain areas in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Tokyo. The total area covered in this data release is nearly 230,004 square kilometers and consists of over 1.1 million files.

PayPal has announced that they have acquired mobile payment facilitator card.io. card.io is a San Francisco based company that provides technology for developers to capture credit card information by using the camera on a smartphone.Employees from card.io will join PayPal’s global production team.
