Google announced that it is forking the WebKit rendering engine and moving on from WebKit in future versions

of Chrome.The forked new rendering engine is Blink.

“There are two main reasons why we’re making this change.

The main reason is that Chromium uses a different multi-process architecture than other WebKit-based browsers. So, over the years, supporting multiple architectures has led to increasing complexity for both the WebKit and Chromium communities, slowing down the collective pace of innovation.

Yahoo announced a new partnership with Dropbox that allows Yahoo Mail customers to use Dropbox within webmail.

Set up a new Dropbox account within yahoo mail
Save one or more files to Dropbox in yahoomail

Google is celebrating Maria Sibylla Merian’s 366th birthday with a new google doodle on its homepage.

Maria Sibylla Merian (2 April 1647 – 13 January 1717) was a Swiss naturalist and scientific illustrator who studied plants and insects and painted them in great detail. Her careful observations and documentation of the metamorphosis of the butterfly makes her a significant, albeit not well-known, contributor to entomology.Maria Sibylla Merian was born on 2 April 1647 in Frankfurt, then a free imperial city of the Holy Roman Empire, into the family of the Swiss engraver and publisher Matthäus Merian the Elder.
