Hashes is a free and open-source hash algorithm identification software for Linux. Using this simple application, you can easily find the used hash algorithm in the given hash text. It is written in Python and released under the GNU General Public License Version 3. It is still in the early stage.
How to Find Hash Algorithm using Hashes
Hashes is available as a flatpak app from the remote flathub. If you don’t already have flatpak and flathub installed,then install them on your system first using the commands provided below. After the installation, restart your system.
sudo apt install flatpak
flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https://flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo
After that open the terminal application and run below Hashes flatpak install command.
flatpak install flathub io.github.zefr0x.hashes
Now open it using below command.
flatpak run io.github.zefr0x.hashes
Enter your hast text to check it.
You can also uninstall Hashes using below command.
flatpak uninstall io.github.zefr0x.hashes
