How To Install TICKR RSS Feed Reader On Ubuntu

TICKR is a free open source RSS feed reader software for Linux and Windows. It is based GTK and available in GNU General Public License. It is highly customization feed reader ticker which displays your RSS feed in a ticker bar on your desktop. You can customized the ticker scrolling speed, update delay, ticker fonts, font sizes and colors. Also change the dimensions and location of feed ticker on your desktop. You can also display the text inside a draggable window and clock. Other important features are rss feed bookmark, open feed links with your favorite browser, play, pause, reload the current feed.

Download Tickr

Install Tickr On Ubuntu:

To install TICKR on your system, open the terminal application and run below command in the terminal. It will install the latest version of TICKR on your system.

sudo apt install tickr

Tou can open it using below command or via Show Apps Ubuntu dock menu.

Then right click on the Tickr to configure it. That’s all.

Install Tickr via DEB:

You can also install Tickr app via native .deb package file from the below link. Download and save it on your Downloads folder.

Download Tickr for Linux

Open the terminal app and run below command to install it.

sudo apt install ./Downloads/tickr*.deb

Install with your favorite package installer. here i am using GDebi Package Installer. Right click on the downloaded file and select open with other software and choose GDebi Package Installer. It will install Tickr on your system.
