Whether you’re on Windows, Linux, or macOS, Thiraipathivu helps you create your own private film and series diary with no logins, no ads, and no tracking.

A Smart Way to Manage Your Movie & Series Collection:

Thiraipathivu’s interface is simple yet powerful. You can add, update, and filter entries easily  with all the details that matter:

Title & Type – Choose between Movie or Series.
Genre & Status – Mark as Watched or Intended to Watch.
Release & Watch Dates – Record when it came out and when you watched it.
Times Watched – Track how many times you’ve rewatched your favorites.
Watched Language – Useful for multilingual content lovers.
Personal Rating (1–10) – Keep a consistent record of your opinions.

Everything is stored in a SQLite database (thiraipathivu.db), automatically created during the first run — no setup required.

Powerful Tools for Tracking and Insights:

Thiraipathivu isn’t just a list. It’s a personal analytics tool for your viewing habits.

Filter by Multiple Fields – Search or filter your list by title, type, genre, rating range, or date range.
Sort by Any Column – Organize by release date, rating, or even number of re watch counts.
Export Options – Save your collection as a CSV or export the entire database for backup or syncing with cloud storage (like Google Drive or Dropbox).

Interactive Dashboard – Visualize your viewing patterns in a Timeline View and a Statistics Panel, showing your:

Count of watched vs. intended titles
Average ratings
Top genres and languages
Most-watched and least-watched titles
Earliest and latest watch dates

You can even use the “Suggest a Movie” feature to pick a random title from your Intended to Watch list — or check Missed Movies/Series to find titles you planned but didn’t watch recently.

You can download Thiraipathivu from the below github url. Currently it has been tested on  Windows 11 and Ubuntu 25.04. It also runs on macOS and most modern Linux distributions. Since it’s a cross-platform Python app, it should work smoothly wherever Python and Tkinter are supported.

Install Thiraipathivu on Ubuntu

If you’ve downloaded a local .deb file for example, thiraipathivu.deb then in your terminal app run below command.

sudo apt install ./thiraipathivu.deb

The ./ tells APT that the file is in the current directory.
