To create website desktop shortcuts

1.Open Terminal.To open terminal click the Dash home from unity launcher.And type terminal in the search field.And click Terminal.

2.Type the below code in terminal and hit enter.

gnome-desktop-item-edit ~/Desktop/ --create-new

3.The create lancher window will pop-up,Type website name in the name field and type the browser name and the url in the command field. And click Ok button.

Google chrome beta 16.0.912.21 released

What’s new in this beta?

Now signing in to Chrome enables sync and brings chrome bookmarks and other personalized settings to all of your computers. Example: anything you update on one device instantly updates everywhere else. Go to the Wrench menu and select Sign in to Chrome.

Added a new feature that lets people who use a shared computer each have their own personalized Chrome.

Google Calendar Suggested Times

Today the search giant Google announced a new feature in google  calendar called Suggested Times. This new feature allows users to co-ordinate their available times to have a meeting together. To get started, create a calendar event, add guests and click Suggested times. The resulting list will include upcoming times where all participants are available.

Google+ photos +1

Vincent Mo, Google+ Photos engineering lead, announced a new feature on Google+ photos that users can now give +1 for photos.

To +1 a photo, click on a photo to open the lightbox photo viewer, and click +1 button at the bottom left side of the photo or click the counter to see who else has +1’d it.

+1’ing a photo is also available in the latest Google+ iPhone app and is coming soon to the Android app and the mobile web site.
