To update to the latest Firefox version, just open the about firefox box and click on the check for updates button.
Firefox 5 added support for new CSS animations feature. To increase the performance it added the tuned HTTP idle connection logic for increased performance and Background tabs have setTimeout and setInterval clamped to 1000ms. Some other improvements are in canvas, JavaScript, memory, and networking performance. It supports standards support for HTML5, XHR, MathML, SMIL, and canvas. desktop environment integration for Linux users are easier and WebGL content can no longer load cross-domain textures
