Lanchat – LAN File Transfer and Chat Application

Lanchat is a free and open source a P2P communication application and library for Windows, Mac, and Linux. It is a simple and easy to application. Originally it is designed for use in LAN networks, it can also function over the internet with a public address and port forwarding. It comes with messaging, transfer files between users, encryption capabilities, automatic connection feature, terminal user interface and many more.

How to Install Lanchat on Ubuntu Linux

You can install Lanchat via the flatpak package file. It is a terminal command-line application. First you need to install flatpak and flathub on your system and restart it.

Install flatpak and flathub

After the installation open the terminal app and run below Lanchat flatpak install command. It will install the latest version of Lanchat on your system.

flatpak install flathub pl.youkai.lanchat

Open Lanchat using below command in terminal.

flatpak run pl.youkai.lanchat

And you can also uninstall Lanchat using this command.

sudo flatpak uninstall pl.youkai.lanchat
