Google is shutting down some of its services. Shut down product list:

Google Bookmarks Lists-on December 19, 2011
Google Friend Connect-for all non-Blogger sites on March 1, 2012.
Google Gears-On December 1, 2011.
Google Search Timeline.
Google Wave-on january 31, 2012, Wave will become read-only and On April 30 we will turn it off completely.

Google+ chat with people in mutual circles

Google+ rolled out a new feature called chat with people in mutual circles. what’s new in this feature?

“1.Previously you could only chat with someone if you knew their email address. Now you just need to have each other in Circles.

2.When you and your contacts have each other in Circles, you’ll be able to chat with them across Google properties such as Gmail, Google Plus, iGoogle, Orkut, and the Google Talk Client.

3.Instead of displaying all of your contacts in your Google Plus Chat list, we’re displaying contacts from your most recent conversations who are online now. (You’ll still be able to use the search box at the top of the Chat list to find contacts that aren’t displayed.)”

KDE wallpaper contest

The main wallpaper of the Plasma Workspaces changes every two major releases to maintain a fresh style. Submissions will be accepted until December 4th for this contest. Send your entry to [email protected] using “wallpaper2011” as subject line (mandatory).

Contest rules:

Minimum wallpaper size is 1920×1200 (additional resolutions and aspect ratios preferred).
The license for the chosen wallpaper(s) needs to be LGPL.
Photos are accepted.

Google+ trending topics

Google the search giant rolled out a new feature in google+ called trending topic. The new trendig topics in google+ lists 10 of the hottest and most popular discussion items on the social network and clicking on a trending topic will launch a search query. Also added some new features, now google+ users search within just their own posts, their circles or the entire Google+ network.

WebP updates – Lossless and transparency

WebP is a image format and it is build by google.WebP was proposed as an alternative to JPEG, with 25–34% better compression compared to JPEG images at equivalent SSIM index. Google announced some new features to the WebP image format. Now webP supports transparency, which JPEG does not support and lossless. Only Chrome and Opera support the format natively.

New Paypal Facebook app for sending money

Paypal launched a new facebook app SEND MONEY for sending money to friends.Now facebook users send money with an ecard or without an ecard.select a card, choose a friend, log-in to your PayPal account within the app, choose the amount and click send. The card is immediately posted to the recipient’s wall and the message of the card is kept private.
Sending money is free to friends and family in the U.S. if you pay via your bank account or PayPal balance.

Make facebook calls within skype

Skype released two new new beta version:Skype 5.7 Beta for Windows and Skype 5.4 Beta for Mac.And also launched a new feature that allows you to conduct a Facebook-to-Facebook call from within Skype. To start a Facebook-to-Facebook call from within Skype you need to do is connect your Skype and Facebook accounts. Then, select a Facebook friend and hit the video call button in Skype- your friend simply picks up the call from Facebook.
