Facebook announced it has developed a programming language called Feature eXtraction Language (FXL) in an effort to help combat spam on the social networking service. FXL described as a narrowly-optimized implementation of a well-chosen subset of Standard ML (with some customized syntax).FXL offers two key advantages: it is simple and easy to write, yet extremely efficient for Facebook-sized workloads.

Microsoft has now confirmed via a blog post that Microsoft Surface Windows 8 Pro will go on sale February 9 in the US and Canada.Surface Windows 8 Pro pricing starting at $899 and that it will be available in 64 GB and 128 GB models. Both devices include a pen but no keyboard which costs an extra $119 for a type cover or $129 for a touch cover.
