How to install Cozy on Ubuntu – Free Audiobook Player

Cozy is a free and open source audiobook player for linux and MacOS. Using this you can manage you audiobooks like import, browse and play audiobooks. It is released under open source GNU General Public License Version 3. Some of the important features are sleep timer, easily search your audiobook library and Offline Mode. You can store your audibooks on your internal storage using offline support. It comes with remembers your last playback position, you can control your playback speed, Sort your audio books and Mpris integration. It supports almost all popular file formats like mp3, m4a, aac, ALAC, flac, ogg, opus, wav. Some other features are Drag & Drop and multitple storage locations support.

Install Cozy Audiobook Player on Ubuntu:

Only available option to install Cozy Audiobook Player on Ubuntu other than via source is Flatpak. You need to install and setup flatpak and flathub first. follow the below tutorial. If you already installed flatpak, then skip this step.

How to install flatpak on Ubuntu:

After the successful installation of flatpak restart you system. Then open your terminal app and run this Cozy Audiobook Player flatpak installation command.

flatpak install flathub com.github.geigi.cozy

During the installation, it will ask to confirm the Cozy installation. Press y and enter. Then confirm once again to install Cozy Audiobook Player and all the required applications. Then in terminal run this command to start the Cozy Audiobook Player. And import your audibook and start listening.

flatpak run com.github.geigi.cozy

If you feel this is not for you then run this command to uninstall it.

sudo flatpak uninstall com.github.geigi.cozy

then enter your Ubuntu password.
