To install vlc media player on ubuntu 11.10
1.Open Terminal.To open terminal click the Dash home from unity launcher.And type terminal in the search field.And click Terminal
2.Type the below code in terminal and hit enter.
sudo apt-get update
Type your ubuntu password if needed and press enter.
3.And Type the below code in terminal and hit enter.
sudo apt-get install vlc vlc-plugin-pulse mozilla-plugin-vlc
Type y and hit enter to confirm the installation.
4.After the successful installation,click the Dash home from unity launcher.And type vlc in the search field.And click vlc media player.
Method 2:
Install via ubuntu software center.
1.Open ubuntu software center.To open ubuntu software center click the Dash home from unity launcher.And type ubuntu software center in the search field.And click ubuntu software center.
2.Type vlc in the search box.
3.Select vlc media player and click the install button.
4.Type your ubuntu password if needed.
5.After the successful installation,click the Dash home from unity launcher.And type vlc in the search field.And click vlc media player
